    November 2009

  • On November 25th, Tunde volunteered with Hosea's Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving Day food preparation at the DeKalb County Jail. Dekalb County Sheriff Thomas Brown was also present.
  • On November 20th, and 21st, Tunde was a judge for the William Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Competition at the Fulton County Courthouse. State Bar President Bryan Cavan gave out awards at the evening party at Manuel's Tavern. Click here for pictures. .

  • On October 1st, Tunde attended Commissioner Larry Johnson's crime prevention forum in East Atlanta.
  • On October 3rd, Tunde attended the DeKalb Republican breakfast, sent representation to the DeKalb Legislative Community Breakfast. He later attended the Miracle Mission Walk in South DeKalb.
  • On October 6th, Tunde attended the DeKalb Lawyers Association Board meeting. He later attended the Atlanta Greek Festival, and the DeKalb Police Alliance benefits fundraiser.
  • On October 15th, Tunde attended the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers monthly breakfast.

  • On July 12th, Tunde attended the screening of Andrew Young Presents at Magic Johnson Theaters. It is an informative documentary on the realities and myths of Nigeria as viewed from the American perspective.
  • On July 19th, Tunde attended the GABWA annual scholarship gala.

  • On June 4th, Tunde attended the book signing by former Fulton County Superior Court Judge, Gino Brogdon. Demons in the Crawlspace is his first in a series of crime novels.

  • On April 15th, Tunde attended the Georgia State University College of Law BLSA Bench and Bar dinner.
  • On April 16th, Tunde attended the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys monthly meeting, which featured the Hon. Marvin S. Arrington, Sr and the Hon. Gail Tuscan of Fulton County Superior Court.
  • On April 18th, Tunde participated in the 100 Black Men of DeKalb Courtroom Enrichment program at the DeKalb County Courthouse, and was a guest speaker at the program of Mothers raising Sons at Georgia Perimeter College, Clarkston.
  • On April 25th, Tunde participated in the March for Children sponsored by Commissioner Larry Johnson. He was also a guest speaker at the DeKalb County District Attorney and Solicitor-General's Crime Prevention Tour, held at Lynwood United Church of Christ. He further attended Congressman Hank Johnson's forum at Salem Baptist Church in Lithonia, and the Best of DeKalb program held at Stonecrest Mall.
  • On April 30th, Tunde attended the Leadership DeKalb Fundraiser at Emory University.

    March 2009

  • On March 7th, Tunde attended the DeKalb Legislative Community Cabinet breakfast at New Piney Grove Baptist Church. Among the participants were the DeKalb County state representatives, and the guest speaker, Congressman Hank Johnson.
  • March 17th, Tunde also attended the Human Trafficking Forum at the Friends House in Decatur. Among the panelists discussing child sex trade was State Representative Mary Margaret Oliver.
  • On March 10th, Tunde attended the 100 Black Men Toast Masters competition at McNair H.S., where several students of the Leadership Academy demonstrated their public speaking and oratory skills.
  • On March 13th, Tunde was a guest speaker at DeKalb County DFACS, where he spoke at a forum of grandparents raising grandchildren.
  • On March 14th, Tunde was a judge-evaluator at the State High School Mock Trial competition held at the Gwinnett County courthouse.
  • On March 17th, Tunde participated in a forum on domestic violence at McNair High School, in light of the Chris Brown and Rihana incident.
  • On March 19th, Tunde attended the DeKalb Bar Association Bench and Bar dinner.
  • On March 25th, Tunde attended the Gate City Bar pro bono forum and reception.
  • On March 26th, Tunde attended the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Business mixer.
  • On March 27th, Tunde was a speaker at the Stephenson Middle School career day, where he spoke to students about law and the criminal justice system.

    February 2009

  • On February 12th, Tunde attended the NAACP Centennial celebration held at St. Philips AME Church on February 12th. He also attended DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis' budget forums at East Lake, Stephenson Middle School and one hosted by PRISM at St. Timothy Methodist Church in Stone Mountain.
  • On February 13th, Tunde was a facilitator at the 4th annual 100BM Youth Summit which was held at Miller Grove High School on February 13th. Approximately 800 middle and high school students from around metropolitan Atlanta attended the all-day event designed to encourage the students towards building and achieving their goals.
  • On February 14th, Tunde was a high school mock trial presiding judge for two rounds of competition by high school students at the DeKalb County Courthouse.
  • On February 18th, Tunde attended the State of the County address.
  • During the week of February 22nd, Tunde attended the Churchill Downs home owners association meeting, and tried a murder case to conviction.
  • On February 20th, and 27th, Tunde taught law students trial techniques at Emory Law School.

    Attended the DeKalb Bar Association, Gate City Bar Association and GABWA Christmas parties.


    November 2008

    Tunde was a presiding judge at the William W. Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Competition. This is a mock trial competition of top trial law schools from around the country. Tunde was a member of the winning team of the inaugural competition in 1998, and returns often to assist in judging. Tunde was a panelist and the 100 Black men of DeKalb County Student-Parent forum held on November 18th at McNair High school. He focused on the ramifications of the Georgia Gang statute and ways to prevent young kids from becoming involved in gang activity. Tunde also participated in DeKalb County District 3 Commissioner Larry Johnson's Child Abuse Summit.


    October 2008

    As a board member of the DeKalb Bar Association, Tunde assists in organizing a forum for the judicial races for seats in Divisions 8 and 10 of the DeKalb County Superior Court.

    Tunde was co-counsel in a death penalty trial of a defendant accused of a triple homicide in DeKalb County. The case results in a successful conviction and justice for the victims and citizens of DeKalb County. Read more

    Tunde files his Declaration of Intent and launches this website for his candidacy for the DeKalb County State Court bench, the seat of the retiring Hon. Edward E. Carriere.
